APi Group is a global, market-leading business services provider of safety and specialty services with more than 500 locations worldwide. We are seeking a Procurement Manager – Direct Materials to support the continued evolution of enterprise procurement across North America.

You will support enterprise direct materials categories including industrial distribution, fire protection, mechanical systems, fabrication materials, construction supplies, and other strategic spend areas.  This role also plays a key part in large project procurement initiatives, strategic buyouts, and cross-OpCo collaboration that drive Api Group’s enterprise procurement strategy.

Serving as a strategic business partner to our operating companies and enterprise leaders, you will be responsible for driving enterprise procurement value through supplier strategy, spend optimization, and procurement transformation.

Success in this role requires the ability to influence without direct authority, build strong cross-functional relationships, simplify complex initiatives into executable actions, accelerate adoption of enterprise procurement programs, processes, best practices and deliver measurable procurement value across our decentralized operating companies.

You will have the ability to combine commercial acumen, supplier relationship management capability, category management expertise, operational awareness, and execution discipline. You will be successful if you thrive in a fast-paced, decentralized environment while supporting procurement transformation initiatives tied to measurable business outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-wide procurement efforts across North America by developing and executing direct materials strategies, driving savings and value generation, and aligning procurement initiatives across Api Group’s decentralized operating companies.  
  • Manage strategic partnerships and lead sourcing and commercial negotiations involving pricing, rebates, payment terms and supplier performance.
  • Work closely with operations, finance, suppliers, and enterprise stakeholders to drive enterprise value through improved pricing, payment terms, supplier performance, working capital optimization, and total cost of ownership initiatives.
  • Support large project procurement initiatives, strategic buyouts, and OpCo collaboration to maximize enterprise leverage and drive procurement value.
  • Support M&A procurement integration by assisting newly acquired companies align with APi Group’s supplier programs and procurement standards
  • Leverage spend analytics, supplier data, and market intelligence to improve visibility, track KPIs, and identify opportunities for rebate optimization, working capital improvements, and total cost of ownership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain, industrial distribution, construction materials, or related commercial leadership roles
  • Deep understanding of direct materials procurement, distribution models, industrial supply chains, or construction-related categories
  • Experience negotiating commercial agreements involving pricing structures, rebates, payment terms, supplier performance expectations, and strategic supplier programs
  • Experience working within decentralized, multi-site, project-based, field-driven, or branch-based environments preferred
  • Effective analytical, financial, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with executives as well as operating company leadership and strategic supplier executives
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, procurement platforms, spend analytics, and business intelligence tools
  • Ability to travel 25–35%

 

Benefits and Compensation

 

This role is based in our New Brighton, MN office. The salary range for this position is $109,000–$163,000, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for annual bonus and profit sharing based on individual and company performance.
