We are currently seeking a Fire System Inspector in Honesdale, PA to perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection and Testing
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems to verify proper operation.
- Identify deficiencies and ensure systems meet applicable codes and standards.
Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on fire protection systems.
- Replace or repair defective components as needed.
Code Compliance
- Ensure all systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as NFPA and NEC standards.
Customer Service
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding system status, deficiencies, and recommended corrective actions.
Safety Protocols
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols while performing inspections and repairs.
Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, maintenance, and repairs in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or a degree is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA, NEC, and local codes.
- NICET certification (Fire Alarm and/or Water-Based Systems ITM) highly preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficient with testing tools and basic computer applications.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying conditions.
- Manual dexterity required.
- Travel to job sites (commercial, industrial, and residential).
- Outdoor work with exposure to high noise, extreme temperatures, and dusty environments.
The wage for this role is $20 to $30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
