Bensonwood is a design-build company based in Walpole, New Hampshire, specializing in high-performance homes, advanced offsite fabrication, sustainable materials, and quality craftsmanship. Our work is guided by the values of quality, work ethic, teamwork, inclusivity, humility, and continuous improvement.
We create homes and structures that prioritize durability, energy efficiency, healthy materials, reduced onsite construction time, and the wellbeing of people and the planet.
The Home Sales Advisor helps prospective clients move from initial inquiry to the beginning of design or preconstruction. This role is not simply about selling a house. It is about guiding clients through a clear, consultative decision-making process so they can understand their options, align scope and budget, and determine whether Bensonwood is the right fit.
The ideal Advisor is trustworthy, informed, practical, and comfortable helping clients make a small number of high-leverage decisions rather than becoming overwhelmed by hundreds of disconnected choices.
Communicate with prospective clients to understand their project goals, site status, budget, timeline, energy-performance priorities, and decision-making process.
Educate clients on Bensonwood’s design-build process, home collections, service paths, sustainable materials, offsite fabrication, and high-performance building systems.
Gather information needed to evaluate project feasibility, including location, zoning considerations, site surveys, program requirements, desired building style, budget expectations, and known constraints.
Help clients understand how design choices, customization, site conditions, energy goals, builder scope, finishes, and schedule affect total project investment.
Guide clients toward the appropriate Bensonwood path, whether product-based, modified, fully custom, or longer-term nurture.
Maintain accurate accounts, leads, opportunities, activities, notes, project information, and forecasting data in Salesforce.
Coordinate with Design, Preconstruction, Accounting, builder partners, subcontractors, and other internal or external team members as projects advance.
Prepare projects for clean internal handoff by documenting client priorities, project context, decision-makers, budget sensitivity, design goals, schedule expectations, site constraints, and known risks.
Knowledge of sustainable design, high-performance building, construction budgets, building codes, zoning, or site feasibility preferred.
Comfortable discussing budgets, fees, scope, tradeoffs, and value with prospective clients.
Degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, building science, real estate, business, or a related field preferred; Equivalent experience in residential construction, design-build, architecture, real estate, professional services, luxury client service, or high-value consultative sales will be considered.
Successful candidates will bring a calm consultative presence, architectural curiosity, strong follow-through, and the ability to guide clients without pressure or scripted sales tactics. They should be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, motivated by client service, and able to keep complex conversations organized and productive.
This role requires sound judgment: knowing when a prospect is ready, when more information is needed, when expectations need to be reset, and when a project should be redirected to a different path.
The Home Sales Advisor shapes the client experience before design or construction begins. A well-guided client enters the process with clearer expectations, stronger budget awareness, better scope alignment, and greater confidence in Bensonwood’s approach.
This role helps protect both the client and the company by ensuring projects are properly qualified, clearly documented, and thoughtfully advanced.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation and exact title will be based on skill level and experience. This is a salaried position, not commission-based. Please note that the advertised salary range is a guideline only. All candidates must have legal work status in the United States.
