ROLE RESPONSBILITIES

Safety Leadership & Regional Oversight

  • Lead, coach, and support Safety Managers across assigned regions, ensuring consistent execution of BESCO's safety programs and expectations
  • Partner with regional operations, field leadership, and corporate teams to promote a proactive, people-first safety culture
  • Develop and implement regional safety strategies, objectives, and action plans that align with company goals

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable federal, state, and customer safety requirements while monitoring regulatory changes and communicating impacts to leadership
  • Conduct and oversee jobsite audits, field inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and sustained
  • Support operations in identifying hazards and implementing effective engineering controls, administrative controls, safe work practices, and appropriate PPE

Incident Prevention & Performance

  • Lead or support investigations involving injuries, illnesses, vehicle accidents, property damage, near misses, and other incidents, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Monitor regional safety performance metrics, including incident trends, workers' compensation, and lost-time injuries, using data to drive continuous improvement

Training & Safety Engagement

  • Coordinate regional safety training, orientation, and awareness initiatives to strengthen employee knowledge and reinforce safe work practices
  • Participate in and facilitate safety committees, meetings, and other employee engagement activities that promote continuous improvement

Collaboration & Program Administration

  • Maintain effective working relationships with operations leadership, insurance representatives, regulatory agencies, and other internal and external partners
  • Support safety reporting, hazard communication, regulatory documentation, and other administrative functions necessary to maintain an effective safety management program

 

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental health and safety, construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Professional safety certification such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or equivalent preferred

     

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS

  • 7–10 years of progressive safety leadership experience, including prior management of safety professionals or multi-site safety programs in an electrical or construction setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state occupational safety and health regulations, including OSHA requirements
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating safety programs across multiple locations or operational teams
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence employees and leaders at all organizational levels
  • Adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and organize regional activities, team responsibilities, and safety initiatives
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams and organizational levels while taking initiative on projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present safety performance, trends, and recommendations to leadership
