1.0 BASIC/PRIMARY FUNCTION:


The Job Supervisor has the primary responsibility to assist in all field operations to include, but not limited to, supervising the installation of concrete foundation walls and form setting for residential and/or commercial jobsites. Supervisor will work alongside the crew as well as plan, assign, schedule, and supervise the work of concrete crew. Supervisors share the responsibility with the Superintendent actively participating in the pre-construction phase, ensuring that the project meets scheduling/budget demands, safety and quality expectations, and are in accordance with Company policies and practices. Supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring documentation, including Job Progress Reports, and ensuring that safety talks are timely and legally sound. Supervisor must demonstrate proven leadership and maintain and guarantee Stephens & Smith quality, work ethics, and safety standards.

Secondary Job Functions: Supervisor will assist in various functions, as business needs dictate, to include, but not limited to, working beside field laborers and performing physical/mental tasks as outlined in Section 4.0.

2.0 QUALIFICATIONS & ESSENTIAL CORE COMPETENCIES:

2.1.1 High school diploma or GED required.
2.1.2 Competent person with three years of on-the-job leadership experience.
2.1.3 OSHA 10 Hour Certification will be required on or before end of first year
of service.
2.1.4 Knowledge of practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools used in
concrete construction and maintenance.
2.1.5 Ability to lay-out, direct, and supervise construction site.
2.1.6 Proficient computer skills (Microsoft applications), helpful, but not required.
2.1.7 Proven ability to lead, motivate, and provide assistance in all areas of
leadership, safety, and production.
2.1.8 Read, write, and orally communicate with clarity and impact.
2.1.9 Commitment and compliance to applicable state and federal laws.
2.1.10 Ability to interpret and work from instructions; read and understand project
drawings/specifications.
2.1.11 Efficiently carry out instructions/communicate and coordinate with
Supervisor, subordinates, contractors, vendors, and office staff.
2.1.12 Strong time management skills and excellent attention to detail.
2.1.13 Demonstration of strong work ethics, i.e., punctual, dependable, and
honest.
2.1.14 Upbeat demeanor in person and over the telephone, while demonstrating
confidentiality, flexibility, approachability, and objectivity toward other
employees, contractors and suppliers.
2.1.15 Dress in accordance to Company policy. No defamatory or offensive
clothing, hats, etc.
2.1.16 Travel to multiple locations and work overtime when required.
2.1.17 Work well in a team environment and assist field personnel in achieving
professional goals that will support leadership succession.
2.1.18 Work independently and under pressure meeting project schedules and
budget guidelines.

3.0 CONTINUING EDUCATION:

3.1.1 Attend various technical and leadership training events to enhance safety
and leadership skills. Apply concepts learned in an immediate and
professional manner.
3.1.2 OSHA 10 Hour Certification training.
3.1.3 Defensive driving techniques and knowledgeable in DOT regulations.

4.0 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

4.1.1 Continually endure persistent standing and walking.

and kneeling when working in footings and setting form; exposed to dust,
dirt, fumes, noise, and sludge, and climbing up and down ladders and
equipment.
4.1.8 Periodically lifting up to 100 pounds.
4.1.9 Regularly exposed to mechanical parts and chemicals. Chemicals will be
handled according to Company policy and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
4.1.10 Regularly exposed to heights and ability to balance/walk on walls.
4.1.11 Continually working with high noise levels and significant vibration
associated with Company equipment/tools associated with the position in
order to perform the functions of the job.
4.1.12 Regularly working under pressure meeting project schedules and budget
guidelines.
4.1.13 Continually utilize specific vision abilities required to perform the essential
functions of the job, i.e., close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
